Documento colaborativo en el que se recoge el contenido del taller Open Data Catalogue Interoperability celebrado en Edimburgo en mayo de 2012: The Data Catalogue Interoperability Workshop was a two day meeting at the Informatics Forum in Edinburgh on 3-4th May 2011, for those who administer open data catalogues (particularly those located within Europe). The meeting included discussion, design and development work aimed at: improving interoperability between different types of data catalogues (including but not limited to those powered by CKAN); allowing them to be federated more easily into projects like opendatasearch.org or publicdata.eu.

The Commission has launched an Open Data Strategy for Europe, which is expected to deliver a €40 billion boost to the EU's economy each year. Europe’s public administrations are sitting on a goldmine of unrealised economic potential: the large volumes of information collected by numerous public authorities and services. Member States such as the United Kingdom and France are already demonstrating this value. The strategy to lift performance EU-wide is three-fold: firstly the Commission will lead by example, opening its vaults of information to the public for free through a new data portal. Secondly, a level playing field for open data across the EU will be established. Finally, these new measures are backed by the €100 million which will be granted in 2011-2013 to fun...

Conferencia que tendrá lugar en Berlín los días 6 y 7 de noviembre de 2012 que trata de aprovechar comunidad Europea de Salud 2.0 para promover la polinización cruzada de ideas y la colaboración. La conferencia no tratará sólo medios sociales y comunidades online, en ella se tratarán temas como la comunicación médico-paciente, la reforma del sistema, datos, análisis, gestión de salud de la población, medicina personalizada, sensores y dispositivos, plataformas, el bienestar.

Según un informe de Value-it proyect de Abril de 2010, se espera un crecimiento continuo en el mercado de las Tecnologías Semánticas que sobrepasará los 700 millones de euros en el años 2014 en Europa.
Sin embargo, las tecnologías semánticas no se comercializarán de manera autónoma, si no que irán empaquetadas en enriqueciendo aplicaciones tradicionales alas que aportarán inteligencia. CRM y Enterprise Management son las áreas que más aumentarán en el mercado de las Tecnologías Semánticas.
